The 6th Annual Phoenix Film Foundation 48-Hour Challenge will be sure to thrill.

Kick-Off Party
Date: Friday July 17, 2009
Time: 6:00pm
Place: Madcap Theatres, Tempe

We are back for another year of the mad dash known as the 48 Hour Beat The Clock Film Challenge. This year it will be July 17 to July 19 with the big screening and awards on July 29. As always we will be limiting the number of teams participating to just 35 so everyone can see their film up on the big screen. All films submitted will be screened on the big screen on July 29. The winner of the competition receives $250.

The Top 5 films move on to the finals of the year long 48 - Hour Film Championship which gives you a chance at the $1,000 Grand Prize. In addition, the audience favorite of the July 29 screening will move into the finals.

All films submitted will be considered for acceptance into either the Phoenix Film Festival or International Horror and Sci-Fi Film Festival. This is the longest running competition of its type in Phoenix. Everyone loves a good tradition. The Phoenix Film Foundation is a non-profit organization and all proceeds go towards supporting local filmmakers.

You may know the routine, but here is a reminder of the details: The competition will kick off at 6:00PM on Friday, July 17. That evening you will receive: The LINE you must use in the film on screen. Information on the PROP that one character must handle during the film (no background props). You will get to choose the genre to use from our list of GENRES, that your film must be made in. Once we kick off the competition you will have 48 hours to complete your film. Then on Sunday, July 19, 48 hours after the kickoff, approximately at 6:00PM, the teams will turn in their films to the Phoenix Film Foundation offices. The film should be in mini-dv or DVD. Mini-dv is the preferred method because of quality and reduced chance for errors. Each team will also receive two free tickets to the screening and awards.

Finally on Wednesday, July 29 at 7:00PM at Harkins Scottsdale/101 we will be hosting the big screening and awards presentation. And do not forget the post-party at Buffalo Wild Wings where we will announce the audience award.

The entry fee is: $50 for IFP Members and $65 for non-members.
