About Me:
Primarily a screenwriter, I've been writing off-and-on for 15 years, but never hit my stride until switching to screenwriting in 2007.

Accomplishments

The Brickhouse - Writer- quarterfinalist in the 6th Annual American Zoetrope Screenplay Contest - an early draft of my first feature-length script, raw and full of issues, so I'm quite pleased to be a quarterfinalist with it. Also received a read request in September 2009 from a Hollywood producer. Ultimately a polite pass, but still encouraging.

Core Values - Co-Writer & Actor - 2008 - 4th place in IFP-Phoenix 36-Hour Beat The Clock Challenge, to be screened at 2009 Phoenix Film Festival as a part of the Challenge finals in April 2009

The Core Values of Christmas - Actor - short film - 2008

Pre-Game - Co-Writer & Actor - short film - 2009 - submitted to the IFP-Phoenix 24-Hour Beat The Clock Challenge

der Backer (The Baker) - Writer - 4th in my heat in the 2009 Screenwriters Challenge from NYC Midnight Movie Making Madness. Write a short script of 15 pages or less in one week after being given the genre and subject (mine was Historical Fiction and Baking). A good, fun exercise and a good experience.

Brutal Planet - Writer - second spec feature completed and submitted to several contests

Candy Corn for Annie - Writer - a twenty-page short, the first script I ever wrote, a Top Ten Finalist in the 2009 Page Int'l Screenwriting Competition.

Hey Justin... good to meet you tonight and thanks for coming out to the table read. Look forward to seeing you again next week and tell your wife not to be bashful and jump on in.

Longest Month Ever is coming to a close (I think)

The longest week ever has turned into the longest month ever, and it's still going. However, it looks like there's light at the end of the tunnel. The 6th Annual American Zoetrope Screenplay Contest is over, and an early, raw draft of The Brickhouse finished as a quarterfinalist. Considering how much crap I ended up fixing or taking out from that draft to the one that went to the Las Vegas festival competition, I'm quite pleased it made it into the top 6% like it did.

Vegas still hasn't announc… Continue

Longest Week Ever

Hey, long-time listener, first-time blogger. Okay, that was cheesy, but I'm leaving it in anyway.

YES, this is the longest week ever. We just came off two straight three-day work weeks, so the five-day week is DRAGGING, and I'm waiting anxiously for Saturday on top of that. Here's why.

I have two scripts, a feature and a short script, submitted into the Las Vegas Film Festival screenplay competition, and I have high hopes for both (both make my wife cry, but don't tell her I told you ;-). The… Continue
