Independent Feature Project of Phoenix, AZ
Scene was shot as part of the Directors Lab at the 2007 National Association of Latino Independent Producers Academy from the feature film project in development, titled "86".
Selected from a competitive list of national applicants, fellows were mentored by professional directors and producers. “86” mentors included Luis Mandoki, director of “Message in a Bottle”, “Trapped”, “Angel Eyes”, “Amazing Grace”, “When a Man Loves a Woman”, “Born Yesterday”, “White Palace”, Alfredo De Villa, director of award wining Sundance film selecties such as “Adrift in Manhattan” and “Washington Heights”, and by writer Miguel Tejadas, who wrote “The Lion King”, “Revenge of the Nerds” and “Beyond Re-Animator”.
Modeled after the Sundance feature film labs, the NALIP Producers Academy is a highly selective and important program, sponsored and supported by HBO, Time Warner, MTV Networks, ABC/Walt Disney New Talent Development Program, FOX, Cox Communications, UCLA, ASU, UofA, the Academy Foundation, POV, HFPA Hollywood Foreign PressAssociation, the Ford Foundation, The Rockefeller Foundation, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.
86 has been optioned by Diana Lesmez, former president of Production at Arenas Entertainment ("Empire", "Nicotina", "Three Wise Men", "Imagining Argentina"), and she also produced the comedy concert film, "Culture Clash in AmeriCCa", directed by Emilio Estevez.
